Arrow Chat filter too suppressive?

Anyone else think the current chat filter is too suppressive?

ERR is this a suggestion to change something or merely an observation on your part?

Could you expand your discussion point a little?

Er. Generally people offer a solution to the problem they're addressing, as Bithor said. >_>

And no, personally, I think it's okay the way it is. I'd like to be able to ignore more specifically annoying people, especially when guild spam gets bad and I want to chat in local, but I guess you can always unignore the old offenders to add some new.

Edit: Oh wait, you meant swear words? I'm sorry, I misunderstood. MetalMan's right; there's an option to shut it off.

Actually I think it's too permissive. It do not checks if you use non-alphanumeric characters to separate acronyms like WTS, allowing people to bypass the party search.

If you talk about rude words, well... people should not use them and you can tune the chat filter, so there's no problem about them.

I mean, sure, some of the edits are a bit odd. But honestly, if you're bothered by it, or think its annoying, just turn it off in options.

I think it's pretty fun sometimes though, to turn it on. General comedy when things go badly.

Oh what the ----, why the ---- you have to ----ing do that? You ---hat. This game is full of ------- nubs. Zomg ----ing noob.

The filter is only suppresive I suppose if you mind the suppression of certain words, but the filter also cuts out words that can both be found in polite conversation and pejorative bad-mouthing. I suppose gay and suck come to mind here.

Happy to help you on that one

If you really really feel like it google the first four letters and you will have your answer rapidly, as the first link is to wikipedia ....

Ahem nuff said.

Besides, im still not clear as to the question? Is it not working or does the OP not like it? or is it too restrictive or not restrictive enough....doesnt like some words and doesnt know how to turn it on?????

What?
